Need You Now: Six Minute Sabbath

On Sundays we slow down here.

We take six minutes to sit at His feet and read His beauty in words, pictures, and music.

To heal is to let the Spirit call us to dance. The mystery of the dance is that its movements are discovered in the mourning. – Henri Nouwen

In my dark hours, when I feel trouble will overwhelm me, I cry-sing this song…and find healing in the beauty of calling out for Jesus…who takes my hand…and leads me to the dance.

May He do the same for you today.

Beauty from Despair – Six Minute Sabbath

The doctors and therapists had given up on me.Beauty from the Darkness

So had I.

I cried out to God, asking him if I was meant to live the rest of my life in disabling pain.

“If this is your will for me Lord, then you have to help me to praise you every day, in spite of it.”

That was over two years ago, and it was the day God led me to the music in the video above.

I played this song for 3 hours straight, the CD for 48 hours, even while I was sleeping.

I stopped crying and went looking…and found a therapist who believed I could be healed.

Beauty showed up in the darkest of dark moments, when all around me had lost hope; when I had lost hope.

The beauty of God’s love awakened my soul to hope.

God’s love never leaves us, or forsakes us.

It’s been healing me every day since.

I pray, as you read the handwriting of God during these six minutes, that He reveals the beauty of His love for you too.
